History of Our Foundation
Originally known as The Come Home to Riverside Foundation, the RUHS Foundation was established in 1997 by two alumni, Jack Rosenberg (class of ) and Elmer Winter(class of ). Rosenberg was the CEO of the Wisconsin franchise for TeleCheck and Winter was the founder of Manpower. The two philanthropists recognized that the lack of funding for public schools was reaching a crisis state and wanted to support the quality education which has been a hallmark of Riverside
through its storied history.
How the Foundation is Funded
The IRS categorizes the RUHS Foundation as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization which allows donors to make tax deductible contributions to the Foundation.
We solicit donors through our biannually mailed newsletters, bimonthly email updates, our Foundation website and Facebook page. We are so grateful to all the individuals, families, alumni, classes and businesses that have either donated to our general fund or set up specific scholarships. We are also able to handle endowments for those interested in that type of donation.
